What is Two-Factor Authentication?
Two-factor authentication is a type of multi-factor authentication that strengthens the security of your account, by requiring two methods of authentication to verify your identity.
2FA protects your account by combining something you know - your password - with something you have - a code generated by an app on your phone - every time you log in somewhere new.
How do I turn on 2FA?
You can activate 2FA on your Billsby account by navigating to your User menu. Click the three dots beside your name in the bottom left side of the control panel, then select Two-factor auth
This will open the menu where you are able to activate 2FA via the Google Authenticator app.
Download the Google Authenticator app on your phone or tablet. Once you've downloaded it, open the app and click the '+' icon. Select the Scan a QR code option and scan the QR code shown in Billsby.
To finalize your 2FA setup, enter the six-digit code that was generated on your Google Authenticator app. Please note that these codes expire after a short amount of time and a new one will be generated as soon as the old one expires, so you'll need to put in a code that has not yet expired.
Then enter the password for your Billsby account and click the Turn on Two-Factor Authentication button.
Once 2FA is enabled, you will need to enter the six-digit code from the Google Authenticator app to continue your account every time you log in. If you do not have the Authenticator app with you, you can opt for a code six-digit code to be sent to your phone number. We'll send this to the phone number on your account profile, so it's best to make sure your personal details are up to date.
