Cancelling a customer's subscription
Updated over a week ago

When you're cancelling a subscription in Billsby, there's one thing you should bear in mind: you won't be able to add another subscription to the associated customer account. If you want to move the customer onto another plan instead, you should just change their plan, rather than cancel it.

To cancel a subscription, simply navigate to Subscriptions and then to the individual subscription you're looking to cancel. You can use the search bar provided to search the subscription you're looking for using customer name, email or subscription ID. Once you've found it, you'll see a menu in the top right hand corner. In this menu you'll see the option to Cancel subscription.

When you click on this menu item, a side modal will open where you'll need to decide if you want to refund the customer for any time remaining in their billing cycle. If you sell a product, and your customer has already received the product for this billing cycle, you'll want to choose Do not issue a refund. If you sell a service, and there is time remaining on the cycle, you might want to choose to offer a pro-rated refund, depending on your refund policy and reason for cancellation.

Once you've done this, you'll need to enter the Customer ID into the field provided before you can confirm cancellation. This is so that we minimise errors in cancellations. You'll find the Customer ID within the modal and can copy and paste this across. Once you've done this, you just need to click on the button that says Cancel subscription, and the subscription will be cancelled immediately.
