Why do I have to wait 14 days to cancel my account?

Whilst other companies won't let you cancel yourself without speaking to their sales or support team first, at Billsby we respect your decision to cancel at your own discretion. However, to ensure the security of your company data, we require a 14-day hold period.

We understand that not being able to cancel your account immediately may be frustrating to some however, having your data deleted and customer billing stopped unintentionally would be catastrophic for any business.

The 14-day hold is in place to protect the safety and security of your account as it significantly reduces the risk of accidental cancellation and helps protect your company from account takeover fraud.

What happens when my account is cancelled?

Once an account is cancelled, all of your data - including products, plans, cycles, customers, subscriptions, invoices, credit notes, logs, reports, and settings - even customer's payment tokens - will be immediately, permanently, and irreversibly deleted. The 14-day hold period serves as a great opportunity to collate any data you'll need going forwards if you've not done so already.

Whether you're moving away from Billsby, or closing shop altogether, we recommend exporting a complete history of your customer's invoice & credit note data, as well as any customer and subscription data and tax/revenue reports before you finalize the cancellation. We won't be able to retrieve this for you later.

In addition, all of your existing customer's subscriptions will be cancelled. We won't send them cancellation emails, and we won't calculate any refunds or send final invoices. All of your subscription billing activity will simply cease immediately.

What happens to my details when I cancel my account?

All customer and company details will immediately and irreversibly be deleted upon cancellation, in accordance with GDPR guidelines and you will be logged out.
